I'm neither a pundit nor a prophet, so I don't claim to have all the answers. However, I do know that as long as God is in control, there will always be hope for the future. Starting this Sunday, Worsham Baptist Church will host a series of meetings centered around the theme, "Our Country's Only Hope". The meetings will begin March 17 and conclude on March 20. Sunday morning service will start at 10:45 a.m., and all evening services will start at 7:00 p.m.
Our speaker for these meetings will be Rev. Ray Gilder. He served an inner city church in Memphis, Tennessee, for many years, and he was my pastor during my first two and a half years of seminary. For the last several years he has been involved in ministry to bivocational pastors. He is a fine man of God, and I know he will bring timely words for all of us.
Remember, our country's hope for the future is not in the political system. Even if we could elect the right candidates to office, they would only be able to do so much. The only real source of hope and change is in Jesus Christ. Come and join us as we gather to celebrate "Our Country's Only Hope".
